Fair housing

Housing data for everyone, about homes, not people.

We support the letter and the spirit of the Fair Housing Act, and we have designed this site so that it cannot be used to steer.

We support the Fair Housing Act. We do not publish demographic, crime, or safety data on our market pages.

Our commitment

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, and national origin. We believe every person deserves equal access to housing information and opportunity, and we build our product accordingly.

What we deliberately leave out

  • We do not publish demographic data on our market pages. Our pages describe homes and markets: values, prices, inventory, days on market, and rates.
  • We do not publish crime or so-called safety ratings, which research has shown can act as proxies for protected characteristics and contribute to steering.
  • We do not use protected characteristics in any way: not in our valuations, not in our market data, not in how we match homeowners with local professionals, and not in any recommendation the site makes.

The professionals we work with

The local professionals we connect homeowners with are licensed and are bound by federal and state fair housing laws and, where applicable, the REALTOR Code of Ethics. Matching is based on geography and availability, nothing else.
